Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) Exercise

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) Exercise

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a condition that occurs when the median nerve becomes compressed as it passes through the carpal tunnel in the wrist. The carpal tunnel is a narrow passageway made of bones and ligaments located on the palm side of the wrist.

Common Symptoms

  • Numbness or tingling in the fingers
  • Tingling or “pins and needles” sensation in the hand
  • Wrist pain or discomfort
  • Weak grip strength
  • Hand weakness or clumsiness
  • Symptoms often worse at night

How It Helps You

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome exercises help reduce pressure on the median nerve and improve the flexibility and movement of the wrist and hand. These exercises also strengthen the muscles, improve nerve gliding, and support better hand function for daily activities.

Note

Early care and regular management play an important role in CTS recovery. Taking frequent breaks during repetitive work, maintaining proper wrist posture while using computers or mobile devices, and avoiding overuse of the hand can help prevent worsening symptoms. With proper exercises, rest, and supportive splints when needed, symptoms can be reduced and normal hand function can be gradually restored.
